The crime documentary show Sweet Bobby: My Catfish Nightmare is all set to release on OTT platform Netflix soon. The true story-based series will be out on October 16. The show is said to be a real-life story of a woman who meets someone online and eventually gets ditched by him. Here are all the details about the upcoming series and the real-life characters being talked about in the series:?
The show will feature a woman who will share her real-life experience in a podcast. The lady is a 32-year-old woman named Kirat Assi from London who used to live a peaceful life before she met a guy online and started dating him.?
Kirat has been a radio jockey who hosts shows for Punjabi residents in London. Kirat will basically share her crippy experience after she became friends with this man called Bobby Jandu online.
More about the real-life story of Kirat?
Kirat Assi fell in love with this man she thought was called Bobby Jandu for ten years until she discovered the truth. The man entered Kirat's life through a social media request, and Kirat too accepted it as they had mutual friends.?
The real-life character being talked about in the show is Dr. Bobby Jandu, who was a victim of identity theft in a catfishing scene. He was never at fault and is scamming Kirat Assi. Jandu is actually a real man, but he was never in touch with Kirat. Jandu's identity was actually stolen and used by Simran Bhogal; the man in question who created the fictional character her cousin Kirat Assi believed she was in a real relationship with for so many years. Real Jandu was, as per media reports, a cardiologist in England's Brighton.?
As both started talking regularly, Kirat believed she was getting to know this man, his family, and even friends, but she never met him in person.?
Kirat in the trailer clip shared by Netflix explains how Bobby started to be dependent on her for emotional support. Kirat, after some time, started realising that something was not right, and she started believing that she was being catfished.?
The real-life story will be told by Kirat herself. The crime documentary has been directed by Lyttanya Shannon.
