The Vikrant Massey film that is inspired by the real-life incident of the 2002 Godhra train burning will be released on the OTT platform Zee5 after completing its theatrical run. The movie has hit the cinemas today, that is, on November 15, amid positive reactions and praise from the audiences, and will soon be available on OTT. Though the OTT release for the Hindi-language film has not been announced yet, it has been confirmed that it will be released by Zee5 online soon.?
The movie is based on the Sabarmati train incident that took place in 2002. The movie revolves around the Godhra train accident that shook India and the entire media industry. The Sabarmati Report has been written by Avinash and Arjun. It was directed by Ranjan Chandel initially and later replaced by Dheeraj Sarna.

The film was announced in January this year by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures, Vipin Agnihotri Films, and Vikir Films Production. In April this year, the film faced censor issues by the BBFC and was advised to reshoot a few of its scenes. Later in July, one of the makers of the film; Ranjan Chandel opted out of the film due to the changes in the storyline and said he doesn't need any credit with the film. Later in August, Ranjan was replaced by television writer and actor Dheeraj Sarna, with the changed storyline.?
