Netflix is bringing home another adventure saga with a retro flavour of the 90s. The iconic Stranger Things diva?Millie Bobby Brown will lead this film alongside Chris Pratt. And if you are wondering when you can watch it, then Russo Brothers¡¯ The Electric State will premiere on Netflix on March 14, 2025, globally.
Based on Simon St?lenhag¡¯s graphic novel, The Electric State is an adventure film set in an alternate retro-futuristic version of the 1990s, where robots are living in exile with humanity already missing from reality. The fate of the world lies in the hands of an orphan, a smuggler and a missing boy.
An official synopsis suggests, ¡°Millie and Chris¡¯ characters venture into the Exclusion Zone, a walled-off corner in the desert where robots now exist on their own, they find a strange, colourful group of new animatronic allies ¡ª and begin to learn that the forces behind Christopher¡¯s disappearance are more sinister than they ever expected.¡±
Other than Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt, The Electric State also stars Woody Harrelson, Ke Huy Quan, Anthony Mackie, Stanley Tucci, Jason Alexander, and Giancarlo Esposito among others. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Hank Azaria, Colman Domingo, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and Alan Tudyk lend their talents as the voices of the robots.
The screenplay is written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and The Electric State is bankrolled by Joe Russo, Anthony Russo, Mike Larocca, Angela Russo-Otstot, Chris Castaldi, and Patrick Newall. Anthony J. Vorhies, Joseph Micucci, and Murtaza Kathawala are co-producing this adventure.
