Aaradhya Bachchan Case: Delhi HC To Hear The Matter Of YT Channels Reporting Fake News About Her
The granddaughter of megastar Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan and daughter of Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai, Aaradhya Bachchan has initiated a legal battle. The 11-year-old has moved the Delhi High Court against several youtube channels that are reporting fake news about her and her health. The case will be heard today (20th April).
Aaradhya¡¯s petition asks 10 entities including Bollywood Time and Bollywood Chingari to "de-list and deactivate all videos" about her.?
Interestingly, Google LLC and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Grievance Cell) have also been made parties in the case. The case emphasises the fact that all those fake news and videos hamper Aaradhya's right to privacy and tend to affect the goodwill and reputation of the Bachchan family.
Law firm Anand and Naik who are representing the case reportedly stated, "The defendants' sole motivation is to unlawfully profit from the reputation of the Bachchan family, irrespective of the damage-causing to the plaintiffs and their family members".
Aaradhya Bachchan has been the target of a large number of eyeballs which is certainly something she neither demands nor deserves.
It was in 2021 that her father Abhishek expressed that he will not tolerate trolls targeting her daughter. Jr Bachchan said to Bollywood Life, "It¡¯s completely unacceptable. I¡¯m a public figure that¡¯s fine, my daughter is out of bounds. If you have anything to say, come and say it to my face.¡±
Back in 2015 as well during the trailer launch event of his film All is Well, Abhishek weighed the pros and cons of being a public figure.
He had shared, ¡°I have always had this attitude that when you can¡¯t stand the heat then get out of the kitchen. If you are going to be available on the public platform, you have to be ready for the brickbats as well as the bouquets. And I am fine with that because I have always taken that in my stride and healthily worked to improve it.¡±

¡°When it comes to my family, it is strictly off-limits. Yes, I do understand both my parents and my wife are public figures but my daughter is off-limits. I am not here to talk about her. And nor do I appreciate anyone making detrimental comments towards her."
A student of Mumbai¡¯s Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Aaradhya is the only daughter of Aish and Abhishek. The duo got married in 2007.
