Unlike others who have lashed out at the teaser of Adipurush, Sunil Lahri who essayed the role of Lakshman in Ramayan says that he is neutral about the movie so far. In fact, he even said that "zabardasti ki controversy create ki ja rahi hai to popularise the film".?

At the same time, he admitted that the looks of Ram and Raavan were a bit strange. However, he also adds that there's no reference point for the same and the makers of Adipurush are trying to break the conventional image of Lord Ram and Raavan that we have seen over the years.?
He also asserts that "nonsense will not be tolerated anymore in this country." He said so as quoted by DNA.

Not just Sunil Lahri, many others including politicians and fellow actors like Mukesh Khanna have reacted strongly to the teaser which they say misrepresents the mythological tale.?
Dialogue writer for the movie Manoj Muntashir told News 18, "Not even 1 percent of the film is a deviation from the Ramayana".
Director Om Raut also addressed the controversy surrounding Islamised look of Saif Ali Khan who portrays Raavan in the movie. He said, "He is demonic. He is a person who is the greatest villain of all time. He¡¯s a ten-headed demon and you will have to see the film to actually understand that particular point."
"The demonic image of today¡¯s generation of today¡¯s time is the one I have tried to translate onto screen correctly. We are making this film for the next generation. The idea behind this film is to take our great holy script, our Ramayana to the next generation and not only the next generation but for the world to see."
