The parents of Dangal star Suhani Bhatnagar have disclosed information regarding the health issues that ultimately resulted in her demise at the age of 19. Suhani, who gained popularity for her role as Babita Kumari Phogat in the popular movie, was hospitalized for more than ten days at AIIMS after being diagnosed with an uncommon autoimmune disease. Eventually, she passed away.?
While addressing the question, her parents said as per Indiatoday, that she had been diagnosed with dermatomyositis. Her father claims that when she began to experience hand swelling about two months ago, a rare disease was discovered. Later, the swelling moved to other body areas. According to him, Suhani developed a mild infection while in the hospital, which caused fluid to build up throughout her body, including in her lungs. Her oxygen levels plummeted in spite of ventilation. The steroids she was given had an effect on her immune system.
Suhani¡¯s father said, ¡°Even after putting her on a ventilator, her oxygen level was very low, and then yesterday evening at 7 pm, the AIIMS doctors said ¡®she is not more.¡±
Her mum added, ¡°She was performing very well in college, she even topped in the last semester. She was brilliant in everything and wanted to excel in whatever she wanted to do. Our daughter has made us very proud.¡±

¡°Although the cause of dermatomyositis is unknown, several genetic, immunologic, and environmental factors are implicated in this condition.¡±
