It¡¯s a big win for India! The most awaited nominations for the 95th Academy Awards have been announced. Out of 301 global projects running to score a nomination, the Oscars had a space for a few under their 23 different categories. To everyone¡¯s expectations back here, films including RRR, All That Breathes and The Elephant Whisperers have scored esteemed nominations for India.

1. Original Song - Naatu Naatu From RRR
SS Rajamouli¡¯s highly anticipated musical track RRR has scored a place for itself. Naatu Naatu after winning the Golden Globes Awards is now a frontrunner to win the Oscars. This Telugu composition by MM Keeravani will be competing against songs namely, ¡®Applause¡¯, ¡®Hold My Hand¡¯, ¡®Lift Me Up¡¯ and ¡®This Is A Life¡¯.

2. Documentary Feature Film - All That Breathes
Directed by Shaunak Sen, this documentary explores the connection between the kites and the Muslim brothers who help them return to the skies, offering a mesmerising chronicle of inter-species coexistence. Starring Nadeem Shehzad and Mohammad Saud in leads, this film will compete against All The Beauty And The Blood Shed, Fire Of Love, A House Made Of Splinters and Navalny.
3. Documentary Short Film - The Elephant Whisperers
The Elephant Whisperers¡¯ is a heartwarming story of a couple who look after an orphaned elephant, Raghu. The story follows a beautiful tale of unconditional love and bond between the couple and Raghu. Directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, the film on the Oscars list stands against Haulout, How do you measure a year?, The Martha Mitchell Effect and Stranger At The Gate.
RRR actor Jr NTR recently spoke about Chhello Show being chosen over his film officially and told Variety, "I don¡¯t think there is a lot of politics going on with what films should go. I think the panel, which is sitting down there, knows what they do best... Hindi has primarily been a national language for a very long time and that¡¯s why it has taken prominence. For us, choose RRR or don¡¯t choose RRR, RRR has already made us proud."
Other Indian films that were on the Oscars reminder list but missed out on a nomination were Gangubai Kathiawadi, Iravin Nizhal, Kantara, The Kashmir Files, Me Vasantrao, Rocketry, Tuzyasathi Kahihi and Vikrant Rona.
