Shriya Pilogaonkar got recognised withMirzapur for playing the role of Sweety. She says she worked very hard to get what she had and wouldn¡¯t want anyoneto take that away from her.
Indiatimesgot candid with Shriya and spoke to her about herjourney, and the ongoing star kid v/s outsider debate.
We asked if she has got instant recognition with Mirzapur, she begged to differ and said, ¡°I started actingthree years before Mirzapur, so I think it¡¯s unfair to say that I got the recognitionearly because I have worked equally hard. I have already done three filmsearlier and I would not want anyone to take my due away from me. Of course, Mirzapur happened and it worked well and its very special, but it is somethingthat didn¡¯t come easy¡±.
When asked about the ongoingdebate on insiders v/s outsiders, she said, ¡°Every actor has their own struggle. I don¡¯t wantto sit and do comparisons. Yes, my parents are always there for me for emotionalsupport and they are sure that I am a strong girl who can make her own decisions.
I believe that talentspeaks, and if people like my work, they will accept me. Basically, we all need the supportof the audience, and people have seen my journey. I have auditioned for everyrole that I have got. So I don¡¯t get affected by this debate around me.¡±
Shriya says that acting cameorganically to her and she never asked her parents' permission to be an actor, ¡°I didn¡¯t really tell them, they just saw that. It is not that it was one day Idecided to be an actor. I have been longing for it since years. It was anorganic process for me. All they told me is that I have to be prepared for the uncertaintyof the industry, but I had faith in my hard work and my skill.?Industry is an inclusiveplace and everybody has their own way, there is so much content right now for everyone.¡±
We asked Shriya if thestruggle bogged her down to give up actin, she said, ¡°Acting is a combination of talent luck, and opportunity. I always gave my 100 percent in the audition, but sometimes itworked out, and sometimes it didn¡¯t, there were times where I didn¡¯t understandwhat more I have to do. But talent gets its recognition.¡±
Having said that she evensaid it¡¯s the best time to be an actor, ¡°Especially today there is no typicalhero and heroine thing, everyone is given importance, today if you get one secondyou have an opportunity to prove yourself, so it¡¯s the best time to be anactor. All you have to do is be patient because this industry is unpredictable. So, all I have to do is to is keep faith and keep going. Because I don¡¯t see mycareer as a 5-year career but a 60-year career.¡±
Shriya will be seen next inThe Gone Game along with Arjun Mathur and Shweta Tripathi.
