1 Dow Hill in Kurseong - Darjeeling
Legend has it that the Dow Hill Forest area in Kurseong was a place where a number of murders had taken? place in the past. Locals claim to keep spotting a headless boy aimlessly walking around in the forest. The Dow Hills Girls boarding school is also known for some unexplained activities. Jatinga - Valley of Death for Birds, Assam
One of the most unexplained phenomenon's takes place every year around monsoons in this Assamese village. On New moon every night a number of birds begin to take flight in the darkness only to collide against trees and die. The incident has left locals and ornithologists baffled for a long time. This peculiar behaviour by the birds still remains unexplained. Some say that back in the 20th century, three women were out to death for practicing black magic and the spirits of these women seek solace in the death of the birds. The place has gained the infamous name of 'suicide point'.?
The Haunted Lodge, Jorhat, Assam
If you are hooked on to Ghost hunters and wish to try out an experiment like them, then this is the place to be. The Jorhat lodge in Assam was initially occupied by the Freemasons during the British rule. People who take care of the lodge have claimed to have screeching noise, muffled laughs and whispers every now and then. People have also found drawings of strange symbols all around the lodge.
Morgan House Tourist Lodge in Kamilpong
In this quaint hill station is one of the most spooky Hotels.? It was built in 1930's by George Morgan, who lived there till the death of Lady Morgan. People who have checked into the hotel have? heard footsteps of someone wearing heels on long and scary wooden passages of the hotel, people say that the spirit of Lay Morgan still lurks inside the hotel.
The Haunted JNIMS Hospital, Manipur
Haunted hospitals are easily the scariest places on Earth. The Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences hospital (JNIMs), located in Imphal is known for some of the weirdest activities. Patients, doctors and visitors have all experienced some kind of a presence hovering over them. People have hands on experience of the temperature suddenly dipping and some breathing right into their skin. ?Mot of the activitiest take place in isolated wards and the toilets of the Hospital.
The Ghost ?Harbhajan Singh Baba, Sikkim
Sepoy Harbhajan Singh of the 23rd Battalion of the Punjab Regiment died in 1968 after drowning in a fast flowing stream while escorting a mule column in Sikkim. According to Army folklore Singh appeared in the dream of one of his fellow soldiers and asked for a temple to be built for him. The Soldiers followed suit and built him a shrine. Till date people believe that Harbhajan is protecting the men of the Nathula brigade who guard the border point with China and they also get them a three-day advance notice in the event of an attack. This is probably one of the most unexplained shrines in the world. People still visit his temple to seek his blessings.
