In March 2016, Akshay Kumar had penned down a heartfelt letter to all the stuntmen and stuntwomen of Bollywood. In his open letter, Akshay Kumar didn't just thank them but also proposed how they deserve much more than the wage package.

And now, after a year, Akshay's vision is finally coming to life it seems. After launching an app and a website, Bharat Ke Veer, to help people donate money directly to the families of martyred army jawans, Akshay will now be heading the insurance scheme that will provide insurance covers to Bollywood stuntmen and stuntwomen.

A report in Hindustan Times has claimed that this will be for the first time that India will be getting an insurance system in place for the stuntmen and stuntwomen.
The scheme has been planned and sketched by Akshay Kumar himself and noted cardiac surgeon Dr Ramakanta Panda, who operated on ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2009.
How will this insurance scheme work?
1. The insurance scheme is going to cover 380 stuntmen and women between 18 and 55 years of age.
2. In?a case of hospitalization due to any physical injury or accident, while doing stunts, a stuntman will be covered for Rs six lakh at about 4,000 hospitals through a cashless system.
3. In a case of death, Rs 10 lakh will be passed on to the appointed nominee.?
