AR Rahman has produced some timeless classics. The globe has honored the music great, from Jai Ho to Kun Faya Kun, and in an extravagant manner. He has consistently made India proud and has even won a few Oscars. But the composer recently stated, "Who cares?" about his Oscars these days in an interview. He also mentioned that there are currently two things that annoy him the most. "I no longer feel the need to prove myself," he also said.
In an interview with The Week, Rahman stated that he is choosing high-end movies and non-film endeavors that "satisfy his creative instincts" and that he "no longer feels the need to prove himself."
He was quoted saying, ¡°I won the Oscars (Jai Ho, Slumdog Millionaire) a long time ago, but now, who cares? I am doing work that is close to me and will inspire future generations.¡±
Rahman also disclosed the two things that now irritate him the most and one of the includes people taking selfies with the timer on. He went on to say that his ability to tolerate certain things has also decreased.?
He said, ?¡°With age, my tolerance has actually gone down. Two things annoy me: a selfie request with a timer and directors who lead me astray. They will add crazy lyrics, and I ask myself: ¡®Would I want to perform this on stage?¡¯ If the answer is no, I turn it down."
In terms of music, Rahman is currently working on several projects, including Thug Life, Genie, Kadhalikka Neramillai, Chhaava, Lahore 1947, Suriya 45, and Tere Ishq Mein. Rahman most recently got the National award for his work in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan.
