Regarding the film's development phase, director Rahul Sadasivan recently stated in an interview with Manorama Online that if Mammootty had declined to play the main role, the movie would never have been made. He added that the great actor exuded a powerful aura that would silence the entire set the moment he arrived. But in a matter of seconds, he said, it would return to its cheerful form, and the set would appear to be more appropriate for a comedy than a horror movie.
The horror thriller "Bramayugam" is shown in black and white. Stories from 'Aithihyamala' and a character by the name of Kunchamon Potti are allegedly the inspiration for the movie.
The main character of the movie is Arjun Ashokan, who discovers Mammootty's ancestral home while fleeing his town that has been devastated by battle. The individual is compelled to remain at the family home and is not allowed to leave.
