Comedian Wears Helmet To Avoid Getting Slapped At Grammys; Trevor Noah Jokes About Will Smith
"I need to caution everybody, remain in your seats and keep your hands to yourself"
This is what host LeVar Burton said on stage before he introduced comedian Nate Bargatze on stage -- who walked wearing a large black helmet drawing roars of laughter from the audience.?
After the Will Smith slap incident, Nate Bargatze thought this was required to avoid getting slapped on stage. He then said, "They said comedians have to wear these now at awards shows during the joke parts."
He quipped, "It doesn¡¯t even cover your face, I think it just focuses where you would hit me".?
And? then he took off his helmet and said:?
"Alright, this is stupid". He then went on to present the award for Best Spoken Word Album.?
Not only Nate Bargatze,?Trevor Noah and?Questlove also joked about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars.?
Trevor Noah said, "Don¡¯t even think of this as an award show. It¡¯s a concert where we are giving out awards,?we will be listening to music,?dancing, sing, keeping people¡¯s?names out of our mouths and we?are going to give people awards?all throughout the night.?So let¡¯s get straight into it."
Questlove, on the other hand, joked, "All right, I am going to present this award and I trust that you people will stay 500 feet away from me. As they say, it is far better to give than to receive. Well, I¡¯m not so sure about that because last Sunday it felt pretty good to receive."
For the unversed, Questlove won the Oscar award for documentary feature right after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock.
In another incident in India, Vir Das hit out at a troll who suggested that the comedian should also get slapped like Will Smith.?
Vir Das responded, "You¡¯re welcome to buy a front row ticket and try at my next show. Just know I slap back. Also once you¡¯ve spent that front row money, your wife will probably slap you for ruining her evening. Cheers."
