Diljit Dosanjh who is basking in the glory of becoming the first Punjabi artist to perform on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon recently shared a hilarious story from his childhood when he ran away from home at the tender age of eight. The first Indian artist to perform at Coachella said that the situation turned so bad that he had to lie to his parents and skip school for two days. Here's what happened.?
"I tried to run away from my home at the age of 8. There was a girl in my school, and because of her I tried to run away from my house," he said.?It all began when his seniors were playfully teasing him, and being the innocent child he was, he took them all seriously. "When I was in school, my seniors were randomly asking all us, 'Tereko kaun ladki pasand hai?' I pointed towards this girl and said, 'I like her.' So my senior was like, 'Go confess it to her and then you will get married to her only'", he was quoted on a podcast with?Raj Shamani.? ?
As an eight-year-boy unaware of the consequences, the GOAT singer went to his childhood crush and told her that she and him would get married. "She went and complained to my teacher and my teacher was like 'Go get your parents.' For me, it was the end of the world."

The Born To Shine singer went back to his house, picked up a couple of bananas and some other fruits from the fridge, took his cycle and just left his house. He had only gone five minutes away from his house when one of the villagers spotted him. He yelled at him and asked him to go back to his home.

"Earlier, in villages, it was never like nobody apart from parents can yell at you. It was very common for the villagers to yell and shout at kids in the village, they were all like a family, they sometimes even slapped. So, this man made me return home when I tried to leave," he added.
How would he go to school? What would he tell his parents? Diljit Dosanjh chose to lie to his parents about not being well and avoided school for two days. He was lucky that his teachers let him go.?
