A Month After Plea For Cancer Surgery Funds, Femina Miss India Tripura 2017 Rinky Chakma Passes Away
In a tragic turn of events, Femina Miss India Tripura 2017 Rinky Chakma has passed away after battling breast cancer. The beauty queen was diagnosed with Malignant Phyllodes Tumor (breast cancer) in 2022.
Femina Miss India Tripura 2017 Rinky Chakma Passes Away At 30
She underwent surgery post her cancer diagnosis. However, cancer metastasized to her lungs and later progressed to her head, resulting in a brain tumour. Her health kept deteriorating and she couldn't sustain chemo any further. She was admitted to?Max Hospital Saket on Feb 22 and was reportedly on a ventilator in ICU.
Three days ago, her close friend and Femina Miss India 2017 runner-up Priyanka Kumari had shared photos of Rinky's reports to raise funds.?
Uring her fans support her friend, she wrote, "Hi, we are raising funds for our friend Rinky Chakma. Her family has exhausted all their funds because she has been battling cancer for the past two years. Earlier, she had breast cancer for which she was operated on, but later it metastasized into her lungs and brain. She was taking chemo sessions at Aiims, Delhi. Unfortunately, her health deteriorated, and she was unable to sustain chemo further, so she was discharged until her health restores. On February 22nd, she was admitted to Max Hospital Saket in an emergency. She is currently on a ventilator in ICU as one of her lungs is almost non-functioning now. We need to raise funds so that her treatment can continue. Please consider donating, and please share this link as much as possible".
A few weeks ago, Rinky also shared a post asking people to help her raise funds for the surgery.
"Currently, I'm getting chemo sessions. Hopefully, after this we will get my brain surgery done too. I just wanted to let everyone know that me and my family is going through a rough time and the last 2 years have also not been easy with regular hospital stays and visits.I am accepting donations as of now because we have exhausted all our savings on my treatment since the last two years. I thought letting everyone know what i am going through will also make me feel better.?Please sent me messages instead of calling as i am too weak to recieve them with my treatments . Also, remember me in ur prayers. Sending love and healing to everyone," she wrote.
Today, the official page of the pageant shared the news of Rinky Chakma's death.
The post read, "With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of Rinky Chakma, Femina Miss India Tripura 2017. A remarkable woman, Rinky was truly a force to be reckoned with, embodying grace and purpose. Representing Tripura at the Femina Miss India 2017 pageant, she was honored with the title of Miss Beauty with a Purpose, a testament to her impactful endeavors and compassionate spirit.?Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends during this difficult time. May her soul find eternal peace. Rinky, your legacy of purpose and beauty will forever be remembered. You will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you."

While Neha Dhupia shared a heart-break emoji, Celina commented, "My deepest condolences to Rinky¡¯s family. The world and India has lost a north eastern jewel, truly shocked to hear of her passing. The heavens have a new angel".?
