Last night, at the highly-anticipated finale of the?60th Femina Miss India 2024, Nikita Porwal was crowned the winner by last year's winner Nandini Gupta. The young Madhya Pradesh resident will now represent India at the Miss World contest.?Rekha Pandey from the?Union Territory?Dadra and Nagar Haveli was crowned Femina?Miss India 2024's first runner-up, and Ayushi Dholakia from Gujarat secured the title of Femina Miss India 2024's second Runner-up.??

The event was organised at the Famous Studios in Mumbai's Worli and was a glamourous affair attended by the who's who of Bollywood including Neha Dhupia, Raghav Juyal, Sangeet Bijlani and many more.?

The glitzy evening kicked off with a fashion show where the 'Top 30 State Winners' were introduced. Dressed in an exquisite collection designed by fashion designer?Nikita Mhaishalkar, the models were all smiles as they walked the ramp in their glamorous outfits.

A second round of fashion showcases saw the Top 30 state winners in designs by the famous fashion duo Portia and Scarlett. Following this round, the top 15 contestants faced a?Q&A round which was judged by a panel of judges that included Neha Dhupia, Sangeeta Bijlani, Anees Bazmee, Madhur Bhandarkar, Nikita Mhaishalkar and Bosco Martis.

Hailing from Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain, Nikita Porwal started her career as a TV anchor and then went on to become an actor and theatre artist. The talented diva has performed in more than 60 plays over the years. As per the Femina India website, Nikita has also written?a 250-page play titled?Krishna Leela.

Other than her impressive work in theatre, Nikita has also played a primary role in a feature film that has been showcased at several international festivals and will be releasing in India very soon.

Apart from acting, Nikita is an animal lover with a keen interest in working towards the welfare of animals. The cause is extremely close to her heart as she thinks, "As humans, we don't own the Earth - we're mere custodians entrusted with its care. Our gift of reason and development should not only serve our own interests but also be used to benefit the creatures who depend on us entirely."

Nikita Porwal's ultimate dream is to land a role in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. Bollywood actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra also won the title 1994 in and 2000 respectively, and have been a part of Bhansali films over the years.
