Coming from a poor family, Rakhi has established a name in the industry today. Rakhi Sawant came from a very poor family but she always knew she wanted to make it big one day. She used to struggle for basic needs. Her mother was a janitor at a hospital and her father was a police constable.
On Rajeev Khandelwal's talk show Juzz Baat, she revealed how she and her brother would eat the leftovers. "My mother worked in the hospital and used to pick up the garbage strip there. We also had problems with eating and used to find leftover food."
On the show, Rakhi also revealed that she would be beaten by family members for practicing dance. "My uncle used to thrash me mercilessly. In my family, they were not bothered about having no food to eat, but they were bothered about a girl should not dance."
"I have been beaten so much in my life that my body is full of stitches. I bore all these just to go ahead in life."
She said that they don't like her blunt and straightforward nature. They would always teach her to be slightly diplomatic in life. "Vo mujhe pyaar karte hain. Vo meri boldness aur straightforwardness ko pasand nahi karte. Vo mujhe kehte hain ki zyada Damini na bano."
Talking about her equation with her mother, when Karan asked why she wants to live alone and not with her mother, she had then said, "Mai jab shooting se aaun. Toh mujhe bohot sukoon chaiye."?
When KJo asked, "maa bohot chidhati hai?" To this, he said, "mere life mein controversies ho jati hain. Mai create nahi karti kabhi. Accident ho jata hai mere sath. Mummy bohot chillati hain. Mere daddy bhi mummy ko phone kar ke chillate hain. Toh Maine decide kiya hai ki mai akele rahungi. Akele zindagi kaatungi. Na mai kabhi shadi karungi."
When KJo told her that everyone needs love, she got emotional. "Iss tarah se Maine apni zindagi jee hai na ki koi ladki aise na jiye."
Last year, Rakhi Sawant's mother Jaya Bheda had told ETimes, "Rakhi has always been a caring child. She has always taken care of me and the entire family. She takes care of the school fees of my son Rakesh¡¯s children as well. She has in fact paid the school fees of both kids in advance for next 10 years.
