Kangana Ranaut is once again making headlines ever since she is promoting her forthcoming film Emergency. The actress-turned-politician who is known for not mincing words often unknowingly gives rise to controversies for her honest, unabashed and unfiltered opinions. In a recent interview, she called former President of India?Ram Nath Kovind as Ram Covid, and this has kickstarted a meme fest online. Not just that, Ranaut also said that he was the first Dalit President of India. When the host corrected her that the first Dalit President was KR Narayanan, she promptly admitted, "Sorry for my misinformation."
This 11-second clip has gone viral on social media and has internet burst into meme mania. It's raining memes and jokes on X (formerly called Twitter) and the actress is trending on the micro-blogging platform.?
"She made Kovind' name sound more contextual given that he was the President during Covid," one of the users quipped. "Inke pass sari information he miss hai," said another one.
Some of the people even compared her to Rahul Gandhi. "We must thank Himachal for sending such a brilliant MP otherwise we wouldn¡¯t know about such hidden gems," one of the users said. "Side effect of Covid vaccine," another user commented. "She knows she can get away with anything because powerful people are behind her," said another user.?
In the same interview with The Lallantop, Kangana Ranaut was also asked about her opinion on caste census. She said, "My position is the same as Yogi Adityanath's.?Saath rahenge nek rahenge, batenge katenge". She added, "There should be no caste census. We don¡¯t even know the caste of actors. Nobody knows anything. The people around me don¡¯t care about caste. Why determine it now? We didn¡¯t do it before, so why do it now?"
She added that women in the country are backward and violence against them is rising. She feels they should be uplifted. "There are only three castes, poor, farmers and women. There should be no fourth caste," she added.?
