Known for her controversial remarks, Kangana Ranaut has stirred up drama in the political arena as well. The outspoken actress, known for her blunt criticism of the film industry and its stars, is now making waves with her political statements, which are increasingly sparking controversies. Her recent comment on farm laws has once again landed her in hot water, with the BJP, her own party, slamming her for the second time. This has fueled speculation on whether she might soon be asked to step down from the party.
For the unversed, this time Kangana Ranaut in an interview said, "I know this statement could be controversial, but the three farm laws should be brought back. The farmers should themselves demand it." She said that the farm laws were beneficial for the farmers but were repealed by the Centre because of the massive protests.??
As she said this, her statement became an eye of the storm. Soon, the BJP issued a statement that her comments were personal and didn't represent party's opinion.?BJP spokesman Gaurav Bhatia added, "Kangana Ranaut is not authorised to make such a statement on behalf of BJP and it doesn't depict BJP's view on the farm bills. We disapprove of this statement."
Later, Kangana Ranaut also apologised for her statement. After admitting on X that her views were indeed her own and didn't represent party's stand on those the farm bills, she also issued an apology via a video. "I have to keep in mind that I am not just an artist but also a BJP worker. My opinions should not be personal and should be the party's stand. I regret and take my words back if my comments have disappointed anyone," she said.?
Well, this isn't the first time, the BJP has reprimanded Kangana Ranaut for her earlier remark on farmers' protest. In August, Kangana in an interview with?Dainik Bhasker compared the situation in Bangladesh with farmers' protests in India, and India would have witnessed the same condition during the farm protests. She?added that bodies were hanging and rapes were taking place during the protest against the now-repealed three farm laws. She also alleged the involvement of China and the US in the "conspiracy".?
At that time as well, BJP had distanced itself from her statement saying, "The statement made by BJP MP?Kangana Ranaut?in the context of the farmers' agitation is not the opinion of the party. The Bharatiya Janata Party expresses its disagreement with the statement made by Kangana Ranaut." The MP from Mandi later said that she was indeed reprimanded for her take. She said, "I do not think I am the final voice of the party. I am not that crazy or stupid to believe that. I do believe in the guidance of my superiors."
