On Thursday, a female personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force slapped actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport. The attack on Kangana Ranaut comes two days after she won the Lok Sabha 2024 elections from her hometown Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. According to the Election Commission website, the National Award-winning actor defeated Vikramaditya Singh, a Congress competitor, by 74,755 votes.
As per ANI, Kangana said, "I am getting a lot of phone calls, from the media as well as my well-wishers. First of all, I am safe, I am perfectly fine. The incident that happened today at Chandigarh airport was during the security check. As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff came from the side, hit me on my face and started abusing me. When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports farmers' protest.? I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab..."
Additionally ANI also reported, that the woman constable of CISF who slapped BJP leader and actor Kangana Ranaut says "She gave a statement that the farmers are sitting there for Rs 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement..."
Reacting to the incident, one wrote, ¡°This is a security breach itself!? Moreover, why the CISF constable is preferring her personal opinion over duty? It questions the hiring and duty allocation itself at Chandigarh Airport.¡±
