As per a report on?Zee News, Kapil Sharma's salary for the Netflix show is a whopping Rs 26 crores. The comedian is taking home Rs 5 crores per episode. This also makes him one of the highest-paid comedians on television.?
According to a report on KoiMoi.com, Sharma was taking home Rs?35 lakh?per episode when the show shifted to Sony TV. By third season, the comedian was charging Rs?50 lakh per episode. For season 4, he hiked his fee to Rs 60 lakhs per episode. For the fifth and the last season that aired on the channel, he charged Rs?80 lakh?per episode. He took home a total of Rs?68 crore for 85 episodes that aired from September 2022 to August 2023.
?Some reports also suggested that Alia Bhatt was supposed to appear in the first episode along with Ranbir Kapoor, and Katrina Kaif in the third episode along with Vicky Kaushal. Times Now quoted a close friend of the Kapoor family as saying, "That's right. Earlier when Kapil's show was on television, the star guests came for free, as they had to promote their films. But now on Netflix, the stars are being paid to appear on Kapil's show."
