Hence, she bagged her debut film director by Karan Johar, who was not only her mentor but also a father figure. Johar has many times addressed in the past that he always considered her as his daughter. In fact, he has called Alia Bhatt his first child.?
From 17-year-old Alia Bhatt who has walked into his office to now a 29-year-old married and pregnant woman, the actress has come a long way, and Karan is proud of her journey and achievements. Recalling the time when Alia had first told him about her pregnancy, Karan Johar says he cried and was very emotional.
"I cried. She came to my office. I remember I was having a bad hair day and I was sitting in a hoodie with cap. And she told me this. And my first emotion was that tears just came out and she came and gave me a hug. I was like I can't believe you are having a baby. It was like your baby is having a baby. It was a very emotional moment for me, it still is! I've seen her from a girl transforming into an outstanding artiste, into this wonderful self-assured woman. And i feel so much pride. Because really, she was my first burst of being a parent," he told TOI.
After Alia Bhatt's wedding with Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar had posted an emotional note on social media.
"Many days we live. Where there is a beautiful bonding of family, love and emotions. I am happy and there is only love in my heart. My darling Alia Bhatt, this is a beautiful step in your life. My love and blessings will be with you everywhere. Ranbir, I love you and will, always. Now you have become my son-in-law. Congratulations. May you both have the joy of the whole world," Karan Johar wrote on Instagram.
