While most of the celebrities were posting videos about staying fit during lockdown and? managing household work on their own, Sonu Sood turned out to be messiah for the ones in need.?
The reel-life villain turned real-life hero helped thousands of migrant workers by arranging transport so that they could go back home.
By doing so, Sood has made a special place in the hearts of lakhs of people -- some of those who he helped directly and others who salute his charitable side.
"Our theme is the struggle of migrant workers who were attempting to return to their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Actor Sonu Sood played a big role during the lockdown phase, we have erected a big statue of him to motivate others to help those near them," Srinjay Dutt, a member of the committee was quoted as saying.
Apart from Sonu Sood, the Pandal has also recreated prominent instances from the lockdown including mother pulling a suitcase with her exhausted child sleeping on it, the girl who cycled 1200 km to bring your ailing father from Purulia district in West Bengal at her home, and migrant workers sleeping on the railway track.
