The shooting of films has once again come to a halt. Several Bollywood stars are already facing flak from people for going out on vacations to Maldives and Goa, this good Samaritan who has put their idle vanity vans to good use. He has given them to the Police who are on COVID-19 duty.
Mumbai-based vanity van owner named Ketan Rawal is behind this applause-worthy gesture. His has stationed various vanity fans--mostly from the sets of Rohit Shetty's Cirkus, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi and Aanand L Rai's Raksha Bandhan--in different parts of Mumbai so that the cops can rest, take a break and freshen up during their tiring duty in the blazing summer heat.
These vans have been stationed in Dahisar, Malad, Marol and Ghatkopar areas. About 20 vans have been deployed so far.?
All vans are air-conditioned and have three rooms.
Last year as well, Rawal had helped the frontline workers. "I have a large number of vanity vans in service of the Mumbai police, they are the frontline workers; last year we offered it to the women officials who are field duty and needed to rest, use washrooms while doing their duties and of course change before going home," he told ETimes.
Rawal got the idea while talking to a woman police official.
"She told me that they drink less water as the facility for toilets wasn't present in the area where she had to undertake her duty. That's when I decided to help the force out with my vanity vans," he shared.
Rawal has been providing vanity vans to all top actors inclduing Kangana Ranaut, Taapsee Pannu, Shilpa Shetty, John Abraham.?
