Veteran actor Nana Patekar is all set to return to the big screen after a long hiatus. He will next be seen in The Vaccine War playing the head of an Indian scientist team who developed the Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic. Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, this film will arrive in theatres on 28th September this year.
But unfortunately, the character isn¡¯t returning in Welcome 3. There were several reports of Nana quitting the film but he has himself revealed his side of the story. During the trailer launch of The Vaccine War, Nana was asked about his absence from Welcome 3¡¯s promo and his answer put all rumours to rest.
He said in Hindi, ¡°I am not a part of it, maybe they think hum bohot puraane ho gaye hai (I am outdated).¡± Pointing at Vivek, he added, "He doesn¡¯t think I have become so old, so he cast me in his film. It¡¯s that simple.¡±
He said, ¡°The industry never closes its doors on you. If you want to do good work, they¡¯ll come to you and ask you. You have to decide if you can do it, if you want to do it or not. I feel this is my first and last chance, and utni hi jaan daalni chaahiye usmein (I should do my best). Everybody gets work (here), it depends on you if you want to do it or not.¡±
The film¡¯s ensemble cast has Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Johny Lever, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, Rahul Dev, Daler Mehndi and Mika Singh in it.
