Actress Amala Paul, who mainly appears in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu movies and will next be seen in Ajay Devgn starrer Bholaa, recently visited Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple, one of the most popular Siva Parvathy temple in South India, and apparently faced discrimination. As per the actress, she wasn't allowed to enter the temple based on her religion.?
The Christian-born actress said that the temple, whose unique feature is that the sanctum of Goddess Parvathy is open only for twelve days a year, only allows Hindus.?
After the visit, Amala Paul wrote in the visitor's register as per India Today, "It is sad and disappointing that religious discrimination still exists in 2023. I couldn't go near the Goddess but could feel the spirit from a distance. I hope there will be a change in religious discrimination soon. The time will come and we all will be treated equally and not on the basis of religion".
Amala Paul said that she eventually got a glimpse of the Lord from the road in front of the temple.? ??
Trust secretary Prasoon Kumar said, "Many devotees of other religions have come to visit the temple, but no one knows that. However, when a celebrity comes, it becomes controversial."
