No Regrets! Pooja Bhatt Has Now Finally Reacted To Her Old Viral Lip Lock With Dad Mahesh Bhatt

Right after her debut in 1990, Pooja Bhatt took the country by storm when she kissed her father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. It fueled controversy for years that a daughter kissing her dad on the lips and that too for a magazine cover wasn’t a great idea. But Bhatt’s boldness was in the blood!

In a recent interview, Pooja has finally reacted to the same stint that earned her infamous media attention.

When asked whether she has regrets about it, Pooja told Sidharth Kannan, “No, because I see it very simple, and I think that unfortunately jo hota hai (what happens is), a frozen moment can be represented and misrepresented in any way.”

She related it with an incident, “Aur mujhe yaad hai Shah Rukh ne mujhe yeh kaha tha when you have daughters, jab hi aapke bacche chote hai (I remember Shah Rukh had told me that when you have daughters and when your child is small), how often a child just says, ‘Mummy papa give me a kiss’. And they go this way.”

“Main ab bhi is umar mein bhi wahi 10 pound ki bacchi hoon for my father. Vo jindagi bher wahi rahege for me."

Pooja shared that it was an “absolutely innocent’ moment that the camera shot.

“Whatever its connotations, people may read it as they want, they will see it as they wish I cannot defend it here. If you want to see the relationship between a father and a daughter differently then you can do anything. And then we talk about family values. What an amazing joke”, she said in Hindi.

Back then when the duo’s photoshoot created a massive uproar, Pooja and Mahesh even did a press conference in their defence.

Unfortunately, Mahesh stirred a fresh controversy by saying, “If Pooja had not been my daughter, I would have married her." Pooja is Mahesh’s daughter from his first marriage with Kirran Bhatt. She also has a brother named Rahul. Mahesh’s second marriage was with Soni Razdan who is actress Alia Bhatt’s mother.

On the work front, Pooja was recently seen in Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 where she ended up as the fourth runner-up. She was defeated by Bebika Dhurve (Top 4), then Manisha Rani who reached the top 3 and Abhishek Malhan who was first runner up. The Salman Khan show was won by YouTuber Elvish Yadav.
