Queen Elizabeth II has finally broken her silence and reacted to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's explosive interview to Oprah Winfrey in which she opened up about the troubles in her royal life and why she chose to quit it. She also accused the royals of racism.?
"The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan," Queen Elizabeth said reacting Markle's claims.?
"The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members," she added.?
Markle had said in the interview that a member of royal family raised questions about the colour of their son while she was pregnant.?
Earlier Oprah Winfrey had clarified?that it was not Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Philip.
"He wanted to make sure that I knew, and if I had an opportunity to share it, that it was not his grandmother, nor his grandfather that were part of those conversations. He did not tell me who were a part of those conversations, as you can see I tried to get that answer, on camera and off," she said.
In the interview, Meghan Markle said that she was contemplating suicide and that she was denied help during her mental health crisis and was targeted by lies.
"I was ashamed to have to admit it to Harry. I knew that if I didnĄ¯t say it, I would do it... I... just didn't want to be alive anymore. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought," she said.
