Bollywood actresses often come under the scrutiny of people for undergoing plastic surgery. Remember when Anushka Sharma was spotted with fuller lips in an episode of Koffee With Karan, she became a target of trolls because of her lip-job. 'Anushka Sharma's lips look they're hit by Virat Kohli's bat,' one of the trolls had written.
Did you know even male actors go under the knife, but they are never scrutinised the way female actresses are??
Talking about the obsession to look young, Raveena Tondaon said that it was hypocritical of people pointing out or trolling only female actresses when even male actors go under the knife or get Botox.?
"The media only accuses women that ¡®Oh, she must have undergone this surgery¡¯ or ¡®Oh, she must have had Botox¡¯. What do these people think, that heroes don¡¯t do these things? Our heroes do it too, then why point fingers at women only?¡± Raveena asked on radio show What Women Want.
¡°Have our heroes discovered the eternal fountain of youth? Are they drinking something out of somewhere which we heroines don¡¯t know? What is it?¡± she asked.
The reason why women want to look young is because they want to bag lead roles apparently. The fact that Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and other actors are still playing lead roles in their 50s, actresses like Shefali Shah, Juhi Chawla and Supriya Karnik among others are playing the roles of mothers speak volumes about the pressure to look young.?
Raveena Tandon said she once joked that Andaz Apna Apna sequel can feature Aamir and Salman in lead roles, but it won't have Karisma Kapoor or her playing the leading ladies.
¡°I have hope for the industry,¡± she added and said that as far as being young is concerned "it¡¯s all in the heart... it¡¯s what you think and how you are¡±.
We hope Bollywood's obsession with young and slim heroines would change soon!?
