Despite losing out on an award, Vir Das took to his social media accounts to share pictures of his nomination medal from the 49th edition of the International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York City.?
On Tuesday, Vir posted a picture of his nomination medal and a bowl of salad and wrote,?
"I was nominated for best comedy at the International Emmy Awards, for jokes. Call My Agent, a beautiful show I love, won. But I got this medal and ate this fantastic salad. It was an honour to represent my country. Thanks so much to the@iemmys."?
But some unforgiving people could not get over his viral monologue 'Two Indias' and started slamming the actor-comedian. A troll responded, saying:?
"Someone tried to defame India, will ultimately qualified for such international nominations. Bravo. Ghar ka bhedi."?
Defending Das, Actor and producer Richa Chadha gave a befitting reply to the troll in her style.?
She wrote: "Akhbar padhte ho? (Do you read a newspaper?)."
But contrary to a few negative comments, people were all praises for Vir Das. Have a look:
The Mumbai-based stand-up comic and actor had touched on various topics in the viral monologue 'Two Indias', including the farm protests, the battle against COVID-19, the duality in response to women, particularly rape, and the crackdown on comedians.??
