Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, renowned for the film "Animal," has sparked considerable conversation since its premiere. Despite encountering various critiques, the movie has emerged as a box-office success, amassing significant revenue.
Despite public dissent from several Bollywood celebrities regarding the Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna-led cast, the filmmaker appears undeterred.
The director, in a recent interview, has now revealed that he watched "Animal" with his 7-year-old son.
During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Sandeep Reddy Vanga shared that although his son doesn't grasp the concepts of hits and superhits, he has watched "Animal" and even has a favourite scene.
Talking about the experience of showing "Animal" to his son, the filmmaker mentioned that he carefully edited the film, removing scenes deemed inappropriate for Arjun's age. Vanga transferred the modified version to a hard disk and screened it for his son during New Year's in Goa. According to Vanga, his son found the 'underwear action' scene particularly amusing.
Sandeep was questioned about receiving constructive criticism from his wife after she watched "Animal" and whether they engage in ideological disagreements. In response, the director acknowledged that such discussions do take place at home. He shared, "Yes, it happens. I receive genuine feedback at home. She expressed concern about the level of bloodshed in the film but did not mention anything about misogyny and such aspects."
Following the success of 'Animal,' Vanga has earlier expressed interest in teaming up with Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh. Despite encountering Shah Rukh Khan, Sandeep clarified that they haven't delved into this aspiration in their discussions so far. However, he revealed that Khan responded positively to the 'Animal' teaser. Vanga pointed out that although their conversation didn't touch upon his films, Shah Rukh watched the teaser and appreciated it.
In parallel, the sequel to "Animal," named "Animal Park," is in progress, while Vanga prepares to film "Spirit," a forthcoming cop thriller.??
