This summer, Shah Rukh Khan's Mumbai home, Mannat, will undergo repairs. He and his family are reportedly planning to move out temporarily so that the renovation can start. However, in a surprising turn of events, the project has encountered a hurdle, though, as an activist has brought up concerns over violations in the renovation plan and requested that the National Green Tribunal (NGT) take action.
Santosh Daundkar, an activist, has petitioned the National Green Tribunal (NGT), according to a report published by Bar & Bench. He claims that Shah Rukh Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) did not secure the necessary Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for the Mannat renovations. Any modifications must have the appropriate authorisation because the bungalow is a Grade III heritage structure.
According to Bar and Bench, Khan reportedly committed fraud by building "12 number of 1-Bedroom-Hall-Kitchen flats for mass housing" and then combining them into a luxurious single-family home, according to the appeal.
Daundkar has been asked by the NGT to substantiate his accusations. According to Judicial Member Dinesh Kumar Singh and Expert Member Vijay Kulkarni, Daundkar has four weeks to provide proof of any violations committed by the MCZMA or the Project Proponent. The appeal might be denied if he doesn't. The matter will be reheard by the NGT on April 23.
