Mukesh Khanna, who is best known for playing Shaktimaan and Bhishma in Br Chopra's Mahabharat, is once again making headlines for his controversial statements. This time, the actor has said that the people from Bihar and?Odisha won't be able to understand?Kalki 2898 AD. After getting massively trolled, he has now issued a statement.?
Khanna thinks that the movie is made for intelligent people, and so, the audience in Odisha or Bihar won't be able to understand it. "The level of intellect with which the film has been made is fine for Hollywood. People are more intelligent than us over there. Forgive me, but audiences in Odisha and Bihar are not going to understand this kind of filmmaking," he was quoted as saying by FPJ.
As his statement went viral, people started trolling him savagely. "So according to Mukesh Khanna, the people of the state that gave birth to Pathani Samanta and Aaryabhatta aren't smart enough to understand?Kalki 2898 AD. What a shame that understanding a film is a benchmark of one's intelligence," one of the users said. "He believes he is no less than the original Bhishma, his whole career was based on a copied fictional character Shaktiman and he behaves like he made that character," said another one.

Taking to Twitter, the actor wrote, "I came to know through social media that people of Orissa and Bihar believe that I have insulted their understanding while reviewing the movie Kalki. This is a huge misunderstanding which I want to remove.?

"I had pointed out two minus points of Kalki movie, one of them is that it has been riddled with facts from Mahabharata. Secondly, its first half is boring and confusing which a common movie goer will not be able to understand which is not in the interest of the film. In this, I was presenting the village dwellers of Bihar and Orissa as examples and telling them that the Hollywood style first half that has been made will go over the heads of many people. The film which is weak. The four and three staff members who went with me to see the incident either did not understand it or they fell asleep. Among them the teens were from Bihar.I told him about the weakness of the film rather than talking about his intelligence.
