In Pakistan, photographs of singer-songwriter Sidhu Moosewala with references to his hit song "295" have surfaced on election hoardings, reportedly attempting to leverage his fame before the upcoming by-elections in Pakistan's Punjab province.
With by-elections being held in 217 seats in the Multan region in Pakistan's Punjab province, Sidhu Moosewala's picture appeared alongside Zain Qureshi's, who is interestingly the son of former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
According to the report, the election posters featured Sidhu Moosewala's image with the number "295" written, seemingly referencing his well-known song. The song is a parody of the Indian Penal Code's section on insulting religious sentiments. The by-elections are scheduled to take place on July 17th.
"I would like to thank everyone who printed a picture of Sidhu Moosewala on the poster, as this poster has gone viral because of his picture.?None of our posters have gone so viral before. "
He also said, "They are trying to find out who printed the picture on the poster and the reason behind it."
To honor the well-known singer-songwriter, Shahzad Bhatti, a 30-year-old artist from Pakistan's Punjab region, painted a gigantic portrait of Sidhu Moosewala on a truck last month.?The honor was noteworthy because only Pakistan's national heroes often receive truck art in that nation.
Before he passed away, Sidhu Moosewala promised a Pakistan trip with live performances in Lahore and Islamabad.
Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead?in Jawaharke village of Punjab¡¯s Mansa district on May 29. The incident occurred a day after his security was withdrawn by the Punjab police, among 424 others.
