Sonu Sood Answers If Raids Were A Result Of Politics, Says 'Declined Rajya Sabha Seats Twice'

For four days, raids were carried out by IT department at Sonu Sood's home and other premises. The Central Board Of Taxes has alleged that Sood evaded tax of Rs 20 crore by using his "unaccounted income in the form of bogus unsecured loans from many bogus entities".

Since the time the survey at his home and offices kickstarted, people and politicians have linked the raids with his meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who declared him as?brand ambassador of the state government’s mentorship program for school students.

When Sonu Sood was asked if he feels the raids were a result of his collaboration with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), he said,?"I am not allying with AAP. You call me into any state – Karnataka, Gujarat, I will go immediately, like magic. I have worked in all states -- those ruled by BJP, Congress…"

"I declined two offers of Rajya Sabha seats from two different parties. Mentally I was not ready. I am currently happy in my place. Whenever I am ready, I will shout from the rooftops that I am ready," he told NDTV.??

Sonu Sood said that the money collected is just not donated by citizens but also my "remuneration from brand endorsements".

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal have been extending support to Sood.?

Sharing Sood's statement, Kejriwal tweeted, "More power to you Sonu ji. You are a hero to millions of Indians."
