'Stop Being Fake', Salman Khan Slammed For Playing Sikh Cop But Keeping Mum On Farmers' Issue
Not only the common man but even Punjabi singers questioned the silence of Bollywood stars who take pride in essaying Sikh roles in movies but are now keeping mum on issues that are bothering the Punjabis.?
Amid this, Salman Khan's first look in the role of a Sikh cop in his forthcoming movie Antim: The Final Truth has released, and people are calling out his double standards.?
In the shot clip that has been released, he can be seen donning a turban and wearing sunglasses. The movie is being directed by?Mahesh Manjrekar.?
"Salman plays a no-nonsense Sikh cop who is on a mission to end gang-wars and land mafia in his area of jurisdiction," a source had told Mumbai Mirror.?
On Twitter, the actor is getting trolled.?
"Hey Salman Khan say something about farmer protest. Don¡¯t make movies on Sikh cop," wrote a Twitter user.?
"But he is not showing up any interest in supporting Sikhs/ farmers in the #FarmersProtest why they want to make money in the name of a community but get mum when they need their support? Disappointing!" wrote another one.?
Earlier as well, Salman Khan was trolled for?trying to appropriate farmers' struggle by posting a picture in which he could be seen rolling in mud. People called it "fake respect to farmers" and also reminded him that he forgot to put mud on certain parts of his body.?
He then posted another video in which he was seen ploughing the field and riding a tractor. However, fans were still not convinced. They thought, it was just another attempt to control the damage. After all this, his silence on the ongoing farmers' protest is making people uncomfortable, especially after known that he will play a Sikh cop in his next movie.
Yesterday, he posted another photo from his farm house. And now his?'Mother Earth' photo on Instagram is also drawing a lot of attention. While some think by doing so, he is extending support to farmers, others are still asking him to speak up.
Farmers have been protesting for more than two weeks now. Several stars inclduing Diljit Dosanjh, Gurdas Maan, Harbhajan Maan, Ammy Virk among others joined the protests. Several Bollywood celebrities including Sonu Sood, Kapil Shamra, Taapsee Pannu, Richa Chadha, Zeeshan Ayyub, Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh and Preity Zinta have extending support to the protesting farmers on Twitter.
