Ever since the debate over nepotism came to existence, many star kids have been targeted online. After Kangana Ranaut named Karan Johar as the flagbearer of 'nepotism,' the debate intensified.?
From Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan to Ananya Panday, many have faced people's ire on social media platforms. Nepotism has been one of the most discussed topics and is still ongoing.?
Even today actors, who come from families with film background, are often seen defending the concept while a few even openly claim to enjoy the privileges.?
While they may be right on their own thought process, many talented actors are often robbed from getting credits for their hard work and performance only because they belong to affluent families who have been in the industry for far too long.?
Referring to the 'nepotism' debate, in the year 2017, Bollywood star kid Varun Dhawan had called trolls targeting star kids the "product of bad parenting."?
This happened, when Varun was promoting his upcoming movie Badrinath Ki Dulhania with his co-star and star kid Alia Bhatt.?
According to reports, during an interview with NDTV, a journalist asked them and the filmmakers, ¡°What do you make of people who say there is too much nepotism in Bollywood?¡±?
To this, Alia Bhatt quickly responded saying, ¡°We don¡¯t make anything, we just keep quite.¡±?
When the director questioned if the people who complain about nepotism, would have been in a similar position such as being born into more privileged households, Varun took the opportunity to hit back at the trolls saying, "They are acting like their fathers didn¡¯t buy them one pencil box also."?
"Matlab tumhare papa ne tumhare liye kuch nahi kharida. School nahi bheja tumko. Yeh computer jispe tu bhait ke Twitter pe likh rahe ho woh papa ne hi diya na, ya kissi aur ke papa ne diya? It just becomes an excuse after some time," the actor added.
