Our beloved FRIENDS actor Matthew Perry's death has left his millions of fans all over the world in shock. After the?toxicology report finally revealed the cause of his death as "the acute effects of ketamine" due to accidental overdose, now five people have been charged in the 54-year-old's death case including 'Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles'?Jasveen Sangha and his personal assistant Kenneth Iwamasa.
It has come to light that Jasveen Sangha had provided a lethal dose of ketamine to the actor which led to his death. The British and American citizen reportedly ran a drug operation from her house in North Hollywood where she used to reportedly pack, store, and distribute various narcotics including cocaine, methamphetamine, and other prescription drugs such as Xanax.?
She first came under the radar in 2019 for selling methamphetamine in an unrelated case. When the Police raided her house, which was called a "drug selling emporium",?79 bottles of liquid ketamine and about 2,000 meth pills were found there.?
Now, it has been found that?Perry had taken the fatal batch of ketamine via a broker named Eric Fleming who had obtained the drug from Sangha.?Perry initially tried the drug on October 13, after which Fleming delivered two large batches to his home on October 14 and October 24. As a bonus for the size of Mr Perry's order, Sangha even included "ketamine lollipops."
Other two people arrested in the case include Matthew Perry's assistant Kenneth Iwamasa who worked with?worked with two doctors to provide him with over $50,000 of ketamine in the weeks before his death. One of these doctors has been arrested too. Doctor?Salvador Plasencia allegedly wrote in a text message, "I wonder how much this moron will pay."?Doctor Mark Chavez and broker?Erik Fleming have also been charged in the case.
As per US Attorney Martin Estrada, "These defendants took advantage of Mr Perry's addiction issues to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was risking great danger to Perry, but they did it anyway."
For the unversed, Ketamine is a powerful anesthetic used in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and pain. Perry was undergoing ketamine infusion therapy.
