Anant-Radhika wedding absentees: Why Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha & others skipped the event

Many actors from Bollywood, Tollywood, and even Hollywood attended the wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani, the son of India's wealthiest family. While many celebrities were seen dancing and enjoying the groom, including superstars like Rajinikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan, there were also big names who skipped the festivities.?

Here is the list of stars who were absent at the much-discussed wedding of the year:?

1. Akshay Kumar

Media reports on Friday claimed that Akshay Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19. Yes, you read that correctly. The Bollywood actor reportedly missed the grand wedding in Mumbai after testing positive for the contagious virus. According to a news report by IndiaToday.in, Akshay, who was travelling to promote his upcoming film Sarfira, had been feeling unwell for the last few days. There is no official statement on the news from Akshay or his family so far.

2. Kangana Ranaut?

Well, this star was absent from all pre-wedding functions as well. There are reports that Kangana was not even invited by the Ambani family. Earlier in March, when the family organised a grand pre-wedding bash for Anant and Radhika in Jamnagar, Kangana too took a jibe at the actors who were invited and were seen dancing at the function organised by the Ambani family.?

3. Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan

This power couple from Bollywood also skipped the grand wedding in Mumbai. The couple and their kids were recently spotted enjoying their vacation in Italy away from the limelight. Though the actors were spotted coming back to Mumbai, they were absent from the wedding. The reason for not attending is still not known.

4.?Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma

Other than Bollywood celebs, many sports personalities, including Sanchina Tendulkar and Hardik Pandya, attended the big, fat Indian wedding, but Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma were missing. The couple is in London, and this could be the reason why they skipped the event.?

5. Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal were also absent from the ceremony. The couple got recently married in an initimate ceremony followed by a reception in Mmubai. Both faced a lot of backlash from people on the internet for having an interfaith marriage. The reason for their missing the Ambani wedding is still unknown.?

6. Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol

Sunny and Bobby Deol were also not seen at the Ambani wedding. The family normally avoids the Ambani festivities to maintain a low profile. The Deol brothers occasionally attend film-related parties and events.

7. Tabu?

Tabu is frequently seen at award parties, most notably at the wedding reception of actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal; however, she did not attend the Ambani wedding yesterday night. Like many Bollywood actors, she participates in social gatherings to some extent.

8. Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra's sister, Priyanka Chopra, and husband, Nick Jonas, came in especially for the wedding, but Parineeti and her husband, Raghav Chadha, were not present. The reason Parineeti did not attend the occasion is still unknown.

Several other celebrities, including Manoj Bajpayee, Pankaj Tripathi, Emraan Hashmi, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who often avoid such gatherings, did not attend the Ambani family's extravagant celebrations this time either.
