Diljit Dosanjh's concert tickets have been creating quite a lot of buzz. All shows in all cities of India have been sold out within minutes leaving fans upset and eager for a chance to see their favorite star perform live. Amid all this, a law student who tried booking the ticket several times but failed to do so has taken the matter legally now by sending a legal notice to?Diljit Dosanjh raising questions about the process of sale of tickets of the show which is will take place in New Delhi on October 26, 2024.
The notice has been sent by a law student named Riddhima Kapoor, a resident of Jangpura Extension, and has been issued to Saregama Private Limited along with the official ticketing partner Zomato and HDFC Bank for violating consumer trust by failing to provide the exclusive access promised to its cardholders. Furthermore, copies of the notice have also been forwarded to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) and the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.?
In the notice, she claims that the tickets went live for sale at 12:59 PM on September 12, while they were supposed to go live at 1 PM. As a result, all of the tickets were sold within a minute. She alleged this was manipulation of ticket prices and sales.?
Furthermore, she alleged that she purchased early bird tickets meant exclusively for HDFC pixel credit card holders, and went live for sale at 12 PM on September 12 as promised. She managed to purchase two tickets with the card she had specially availed for Diljit Dosanjh's concert in Delhi. However, instead of a ticket confirmation what she got in return was a refund of Rs 25, 510.?
The notice furthermore claims that it seems that official ticketing partners Saregama Private Limited, Zomato and HDFC Bank "orchestrated a scam" by engaging with unauthorised resellers and third-party sellers who are now selling the same tickets at inflated prices. She demanded an explanation for the aforementioned points and a compensation for her and "other affected consumers for the losses suffered due to unfair practices, scalping and manipulation by providing those tickets as per book." If the concerned parties fail to respond and initiate action in seven days, she will initiate legal proceedings against them.?
