Actress turned politician Kangana Ranaut, while supporting her BJP ally and Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde against Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath's "betrayal" statement, said Swami Avimukteshwaranand had "hurt the sentiments of all" by calling Shinde a "traitor" and a "betrayer."
Maintaining her image of being bold with her actions and statements, Ranuat took to X (former Twitter) and said on Thursday, "In politics, it is very normal and constitutional to have alliances, treaties, and divisions of a party. The Congress party was divided in 1907 and then again in 1971. If a politician does not do politics, will he sell golgappas?"
In what is called a jibe at Shinde, Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati said that in the tenets of Hinduism, treachery is considered to be one of the biggest sins, and "those who betray cannot be Hindus. He referred to the collapse of the former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi government in 2022.
Well, this is not the first time that the actress, who is now also the Mandi MP, has turned heads with her remarks. Here are some of her past Kangana Ranaut controversies that were funny and bold at the same time:
Kangana's statement resulted in a huge controversy as it was about India's independence. At an event in 2021, Kangana said, "The freedom we got in 1947 was a 'bheekh', and that the "citizens of India got real freedom in 2014."
The comment was a reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure, which started in 2014.?
Kangana's Twitter account was even suspended after she allegedly used hate speech on the social media platform X. According to the complaint filed against Kangana, the actress harmed the image of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The police filed a case against Kangana after she made a direct attack on Banerjee in response to the post-election violence in West Bengal. Her words resulted in the suspension of her X (then Twitter) account for inciting rage and violence. The account was only recovered two years later. The same year, a FIR was lodged against Kangana in West Bengal for allegedly promoting hate speech and inciting communal violence.
Kangana once called actress-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar 'a soft p*rn star' while speaking to a news channel. Urmila was then the leader of the Congress Party and ran in the 2019 elections. Kangana made the statement against Urmila, a Congress leader at the time, during a television interview.
Kangana Ranaut sparked controversy during the farmers' protests in Delhi when she wrongly recognised an old woman as Bilkis Bano, a major character from the Shaheen Bagh protests. In a now-deleted tweet, the actor claimed that the woman was "available for Rs 100" to participate in the demonstration.

This long-running feud even resulted in a recent slap incident in which Knagana was smacked by one of the protesting farmers' daughters after winning the Mandi seat while travelling.
Well, there are many other statements that describe Kangana's funny and bold personality. Despite a section of people on the internet hating her for this, she has a massive fan following on social media platforms that has boosted her confidence so far in her Bollywood as well as political career.
