Drake is all set to launch his own weed brand out of his hometown in Toronto, Canada. For this, he has collaborated with pot-producing powerhouse Canopy Growth, the company which already has similar ventures lined up with other celebrities including Snoop Dogg, Martha Stewart and Seth Rogan among others.
Drake will have 60 percent stake in the company while the rest of it will be with Canopy.

The relationship between music and cannabis is apparently generations old. Jay-Z, Whoopi Goldberg, Melissa Etheridge and Snoop Dogg are some of the names involved in the business after marijuana was legalised for recreational and medical use.

Meanwhile in India, the debate whether cannabis shall be legalised is still on. Just a couple of days ago, the Delhi High Court had issued a notice in a plea challenging the criminalisation and prohibition of the use of marijuana in the country. In his plea, the petition had claimed that the fact that cannabis is treated at par with other lethal chemicals was arbitrary, unscientific as well as unreasonable.

The petitioner submitted in his application the medicinal properties of cannabis. ¡°...medicinal use of Cannabis can help to reduce the acute health crisis, which the country is currently facing.. (It) is useful in prevention of Cancer and brings relief to the patients who are affected with HIV. The level of relief, which this plant can bring, would become evident from the fact that on an average eight lakh people die from cancer every year. Further, about 82,000 cases of HIV infection are reported every year.¡±
