'Going To Do Everything I Can', Sean Penn To Help Ukrainian Refugees Through His Charity

Filmmaker and actor Sean Penn will be helping Ukrainian refugees through his charity organisation. The actor was among the first few celebrities to react when Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.?

The ongoing war has resulted in countless loss of life and destruction. People are fleeing their homeland in order to find a safe haven.?

Sean Penn has struck?a deal with Mayor of Krakow Jacek Majchrowski to supply aid to Ukrainian refugees through his charity, reports news agency IANS. The actor is also filming a documentary in Ukraine, focusing on the Russian invasion.?

During a press conference, the actor was quoted saying,?“I’m going to do everything I can do. Whether is me being here, or coming back many times, or just coming back to shake the hands of the people who are doing the work.?They can count on me as I count on them."

Sean Penn returned from Ukraine to the US a couple of days back. After returning, he took to Twitter and shared how he, along with his crew members, had to abandon a rented car to cross the border.?

He wrote, "Myself & two colleagues walked miles to the Polish border after abandoning our car on the side of the road. Almost all the cars in this photo carry women & children only, most without any sign of luggage, and a car their only possession of value."

Sean is now back in Poland, determined to help and support people as much as he can.

For the unversed, Sean Penn is the founder of CORE, a crisis response organization. The actor was also lauded for his efforts during the pandemic after his team managed to administer 2.6M Covid vaccines and 6.3M Covid tests.?
