The stage is set for Thor to return! Chris Hemsworth will return as the beloved Thor Odinson is his fourth solo outing as the God Of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder.
However, it looks like it might be his final film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
??
During the promotion of his film with Wired¡¯s auto-complete interview, Hemsworth spoke about his future with MCU. When he was asked about the last Marvel film that he shot, he replied,?
"The last one I just shot was Thor: Love and Thunder. And it may be my last, I don't know. It was a wild and fun and wacky experience, as all Taika Waititi movies are.¡±
This has left his fans scratching their heads over the fate of Thor. More so, because even the latest trailer of the film hints at Thor¡¯s last adventure. In the video, Korg - played by Taika Waititi, can be seen narrating Thor¡¯s story to kids and he does so in past tense.
This has given rise to several fan theories and assumptions
Following the events after Avengers: Endgame, the new film is the fourth outing in the Thor franchise after Thor (2011), Thor: The Dark World (2013), and Thor: Ragnarok (2017).?
It was in 2011, when Thor was first introduced in the MCU with Chris Hemsworth playing the God of Thunder. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, it showed the origin of Thor and how he became the mighty prince of Asgard.
Since then, two sequels have been released namely Thor: Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok, which made a lot of noise. The second one helmed by Alan Taylor opened to a lukewarm response as it did not sit well with the fans. The franchise took a massive turn with the third one - Thor: Ragnarok as Taika Waititi managed to turn things around.
Whether speculations will turn out to be true or not remains to be seen. Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder is all set to hit the Indian theatres on July 7th 2022. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth along with Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Jeff Goldblum, Jaimie Alexander, Russell Crowe and Christian Bale.
