Jennifer Lopez is ready to make her big screen comeback with the sports drama Unstoppable amid her highly-publicised divorce from Ben Affleck. Lopez recently revealed she's drawing inspiration from her own "challenging relationships" to connect with her character's journey.?The singer-actress is set to star as Judy Robles, mother of NCAA wrestling champion Anthony Robles, in the upcoming film.?
At a recent promotional event, Jenny on the Block?crooner revealed that she is using her personal struggles as inspiration for her role as Judy Robles in Unstoppable. Amid her divorce from Affleck, Lopez shared how her character in the film experiences events similar to her life with challenging relationships and motherhood journey.?"I think a lot of women have gone through that," she was quoted as saying by Page Six.
The actor also sat down on many occasions with Judy to have a chat about her struggles and found many similarities.?"I wanted to really understand Judy and make sure she felt safe with me [while] sharing details of her experience," Jennifer said.?She added, "When you talk to Judy's kids, including Anthony, they say, 'My mom's so positive, she's so great,' but there was a whole different story there that she was living, that you hide from your children."??
?JLo is mother to twins, Max and Emme, from her previous marriage with Marc Anthony. She is also close to Ben Affleck's kids Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel, whom he shares with his former wife Jennifer Garner.
?Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who reunited in 2021 after breaking up in 2004, got married in 2022. However, just one year into marriage, the rumours of troubles in their marriage began with the Gone Girl actor moving out of their marital home earlier this year. Months after speculations of separation, Lopez filed for divorce in August citing 'irreconcilable differences'.?
A report had earlier cited a source as saying that despite their separation, Jen and Ben cannot go no-contact because of their shared ventures. Now, JLo is making her comeback with Unstoppable, a film backed by the actor's production house Artist Equity.? However, the couple are keeping it strictly professional, with Lopez leaving no stone unturned to promote the film.?
Directed by William Goldenberg, the film will release in select theatres on December 6, before its Prime Video premiere on January 16, 2025.?
