Angelina Jolie has every shot at winning a much-deserved Oscar for Maria, critics who already watched the film believe. However, rumour has it that an anti-Jolie team is conspiring with her former husband, Brad Pitt, to rob the star of her Academy dream for her latest venture.

A new In Touch Weekly report has claimed that Jolie's old rivalry has come in the way of her Oscar nominations as a group of 'mean girls' -?such as?Jennifer Aniston,?Annette Bening,?Laura Dern,?Mary McCormack?and?Andrea Riseborough - are teaming up to ensure that her blood, sweat and tears get nothing but a passing mention at the upcoming Academy Awards.

A source close to Jolie told the publication that the anti-Angie squad is using their social network to steer the course of the nomination process despite Netflix spending real money to get her 'very strong' performance shortlisted.

“Angelina has the enviable position of being Netflix’s most viable Best Actress candidate, and they’re already spending real money to get the word out and get her very strong performance in Maria shortlisted,” the insider says. “The problem from the perspective of Angelina’s team is that Netflix’s millions might not be enough this year, especially with Hollywood teeming with middle-aged actresses who are aligned with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and their vast social networks.”

Another source told the publication, “You’d hope for Angie’s sake, after all she put herself through to make?Maria, that she could neutralize this threat but Jen’s social network is incredibly powerful, it’s tightly knit, and it’s full of A-listers.”

Brad Pritt has once again found himself at the helm of an Angelina Jolie drama amid their War of the Rosés. According to the source, Aniston is teaming up with Brad due to their alleged shared rivalry with the Maleficent star. Brad, for his part, is pushing?Nicole Kidman’s movie?Babygirl to hit back at his ex.

For Angelina, the biggest respite is Netflix's endorsement of her movie, as the streaming giant is known to share a tight bond with the Academy.

Maria will be out in select theatres on?November 27 and stream on Netflix on December 11. The film previously had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on August 29.
