In a press statement released in Spanish, per People, Argentina's National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor's Office No. 14 announced Tuesday that Liam's father met with officials and was briefed on the investigation. The release added that Geoff told officials that he would be open to sharing everything that he knows about his son's life to help with the ongoing investigation.

The release further mentioned that Geoff is looking for answers, and wants to know what happened to his son. The development comes after the singer's father was allowed to visit the room at CasaSur Palermo Hotel where he was staying and died after a fatal fall from the balcony.

Officials investigating the death of Liam Payne on Tuesday revealed that they are trying to reconstruct the late One Direction star's final moments before death. In a press release updated on October 22, the officials said, “Within the framework of the investigation, expert reports are being carried out on cell phones, computers, photographs and videos from security cameras that require a longer analysis time.”

It continued, “Numerous statements were also taken to reconstruct the victim's final hours and the scene of the events, a process that is still ongoing with hotel workers, acquaintances, technical and medical professionals, and other people linked to the victim through their work.”

Liam Payne passed away on October 16, 2024, at the young age of 31. A partial autopsy recently revealed that the former One Direction singer had multiple substances, including Pink cocaine, in his system when he fell to his death from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires. Payne's body will remain in Argentina until the autopsy is complete, multiple media reports stated.
