The VFX community has lambasted Marvel Studios as artists have started to speak out against the company. Many VFX artists took to Reddit to share that they suffered while working on Marvel projects.
Many former Marvel employees claimed that the company is the "worst" to work for because of the alleged strict deadlines and long working hours.?
As fans, it is not easy to ignore these accusations as these people put in a lot of hard work in creating these major ventures and the 'larger than life' MCU films we watch each year.
The declining standard of Marvel's visual and special effects has been heavily criticized. The VFX quality of Black Panther's final battle faced criticism in 2018, while more recently, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law's debut trailer triggered a debate since many people weren't impressed with how the character looked in the film.
Many of Marvel's projects have come under fire for having VFX and CGI of dubious quality. The most recent Marvel film, Thor: Love and Thunder, which is currently in theaters, has not been immune from criticism.
According to The Gamer, VFX artists actively refuse to work with the entertainment and media giant because they perceive it to be the "worst VFX management out there."?
One of the threads reads:?
"I am quite frankly sick and tired of working on Marvel shows!"
The thread is rife with artists' complaints about lack of sleep, fatigue, and poor diet. Independent-Ad419, a Reddit member, who is one of the artists, had the following to say about the studio:
Dhruv Govil, a visual effects artist who previously worked with Marvel on the projects Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man, joined the Twitter uproar in support of his colleagues' concerns.?
In response to the mentioned The Gamer article, Govil shared his own experience in which he is alleged to be overworked, saying:
It will be interesting to watch how Marvel reacts to these accusations and, if they are true, how they plan to improve the conditions.
