The trailer for the action thriller 'Monkey Man' has recently been released and has already garnered numerous likes on various social media platforms. This film marks the directorial debut of Oscar-nominated actor Dev Patel.
Clocking in at over three minutes, the trailer unveils scenes from the film, which is set in an Indian locale and draws inspiration from the legend of 'Hanuman.'
The trailer clip shows Dev's character earning a living in an underground fight club where he endures beatings from renowned fighters for money, all while donning a gorilla mask during the bouts.
Providing glimpses into his childhood, the trailer portrays moments spent with his mother and the heart-wrenching loss he experiences. As he matures, he embarks on a journey to seek revenge against those who stripped him of everything.
Sobhita's Character:?
In the trailer clip, Sobhita seems to be revisiting her 'Made In Heaven' character. Since only the trailer has been released so far, she's featured in a few scenes, but it's too early to assess her role in the movie.
Sobhita, expressing her delight, shared the trailer on Instagram on Friday night.
The film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on April 5. Dev Patel directed the film, co-writing the original story and screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee.
Fun Fact: Originally scheduled for Netflix in 2021, 'Monkey Man' caught Jordan Peele's attention, and after watching the film, he believed it deserved a big-screen release.
The movie will be distributed through Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw as part of its deal with Universal. Notable other cast members include Makarand Deshpande, Sikandar Kher, Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Adithi Kalkunte, and Ashwini Kalsekar.
