Recently, a video doing rounds on the internet showed that a mob had interrupted the screening of Akshay Kumar's Bachchan Paandey, asking to show 'The Kashmir Files' instead. The?incident happened at Eylex Cinemas, located in the town of Sambalpur in Odisha, as per a Bollywood Hungama report.?
Speaking to the media, Siddaramaiah said that?BJP leaders are forcing movie theatres to screen The Kashmir Files instead of James.?He alleged that the producer of the film James had come up to him and highlighted the issue.?"Since the producers of 'James' have booked theatres by paying advance amounts, forcing the theatres to screen The Kashmir Files is nothing but harassment," Siddaramaiah said.?
Actor Puneeth Rajkumar died of cardiac arrest in October 2021. His last film, James, released on March 17 and crossed the 100 crore mark within four days of its release.?
The Kashmir Files, on the other hand, released on March 11 and is emerging as a blockbuster film. Based on the sufferings of the Kashmiri Pandits during the 1990s exodus, the film is a hard-hitting experience that stays with you even after you have exited the theatre.?
Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar,?Pallavi Joshi,?Chinmay Mandlekar and others in pivotal roles, the film is directed by Vivek Agnihotri and has been in the centre of controversies even before its release.?
